The major award of £500 was made to a student undertaking a research MSc in Aeronautical Engineering, contributing towards the costs in designing and building an Micro Aerial Vehicle for entry in an international competition. Two awards were made, the principal one to a student preparing for a Masters degree in  Aero Engineering, to support a short term placement at the van Karman Institute in Belgium.
